The school is under the High Patronage of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown.
On the British International Line, Transylvania College offers the National Curriculum of England from Year 1 (five-year-olds) through high school (14-18-year-olds). The Reception class, enrolling children who are four by the beginning of the school year, follows the Early Years Foundations Stage curriculum.
Transylvania College earned British School Overseas status in 2013, following a rigorous inspection from the UK’s Department for Education. We are happy to share with you that we have successfully completed the third inspection that certifies our British School Overseas (BSO) accreditation. Transylvania College meets all the standards for British Schools Overseas with several areas being seen as well above the benchmark required by the UK Department for Education (DfE).

The Romanian curriculum, complemented by extensive English teaching is offered in the nursery (starting at 20 months), kindergarten and the Romanian line for primary and middle school, up to grade 8. The Romanian line is fully accredited by ARACIP, with a maximum inspection score. They considered that we fully meet ALL the standards (Foarte bine - that is the highest grade) and are OUTSTANDING (which means that we are also innovative in education) in 6 areas including curriculum and quality of education, wellbeing, professional development, data management and IT support ...

In line with the practise of many British schools in the UK and abroad, our school has also chosen to introduce Edexcel examinations for some of the subjects on offer and we are also recognised as a Pearson Edexcel centre.
