It's safe to say that decision making is something that our students are doing every day. Career paths are surely the most important thing on their minds as they reach high-school, which is why we devised the Work Experience programme three years ago to help them make more informed decisions.
During work experience, students get to spend 2 to 8 weeks, usually during the summer, in various organisations, tutored by assigned mentors, to learn more about the specific workplaces, organisational cultures, professional roles and expectations, perks and disadvantages. We do our best to find them placements, according to their preferences, in fields like:
- architecture / interior design
- graphic design
- banking / economics
- robotics and engineering
- programming / app development
- medicine and veterinary medicine
- event planning
This year's first internship has started this week, as five or our students have teamed-up for the next following months to develop an app under the mentorship of developers from several IT companies based in Cluj. Transylvania College is so excited to join this project along with 100 students from 8 other schools and salutes Descopera-ti pasiunea in I.T.'s initiative for introducing our youth to such professional work environments and project-based learning in IT.
The team with the best app will receive financial aid and support in launching the app on the market.
We appreciate Fortech, Arobs Transilvania, Netmatch, NTTData, AirSoft Consult, OracleAcademy, Betfair, OptimaGroup, Qubiz and AAround25, for bridging the gap between theory and practice in education! :D
Stay tuned to follow our team's progress and find out more about the Work Experience programme.
Should your company or someone you know might be interested in having our students as interns, we would be more than happy to receive your recommendations via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
